 |  Texas Tennis Foundation Names Players to Receive Assistance from Competitive Junior Player Travel Grant Program $20,000 Total to be Awarded in 2005 The Texas Tennis Foundation Board of Directors is proud to announce its selection for the second funding period of the Texas Tennis Foundation’s Junior Competitive Player Travel Grant. The funds, $10,000 allocated for this period, are awarded in support of developing exceptional young competitive tennis players by assisting them with a portion of their travel expenses to National Junior Tournament Schedule or ITF events. This program is based on the premise that young competitive Texas tennis players, showing talent and ability, need the opportunity to gain a competitive edge by playing competition outside their section on a national and international level – enabling them to reach their true potential. From the many applications received, the selection committee’s task was to review the information and identify top players in need of financial assistance and to provide them with a meaningful grant to defray significant portions of their travel expense to national and/or international events. Applications are being accepted now for the third and final allocation period of 2005, which covers USTA national and ITF scheduled event played from October 1, 2005 through January 31, 2006, and note that the deadline is September 1, 2005.
