It has a new name, but Raising a Racquet for Special Athletes promises to deliver the same tennis fun and social excitement that athletes with an intellectual disability have looked forward to for the past twenty-one years. It's the highlight of their year!
The Texas Tennis and Education Foundation is proud to be a part of this is a unique event where athletes can increase their skills during clinics or have a rare opportunity to compete with others in a tournament regardless of their tennis abilities.
Raising a Racquet for Special Athletes has several divisions of play, allowing each participant the opportunity to significantly increase their skill levels while building their confidence and confidence and self-esteem.
We offer skills, singles, doubles and unified doubles.
Raising a Racquet for Special Athletes is offered at no cost to the athletes and their families and coaches. Meals are provided, as well as hotels for those located at least 50 miles outside of the event, all funded through program donations.
If you are interested in donating, 100% of your donation will be used to support this event and to help this passionate team expand fun and innovative tennis programs to reach more and more Special Needs athletes throughout Texas and the USA.
The Texas Tennis and Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is the charitable arm of USTA Texas. Its mission is to promote health and education through tennis by providing assistance to Texas tennis players and organizations.
